“Shimmering Poppy Garden” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – SOLD
As our garden blooms with a new growth of poppies and irises, I remember how many times I was inspired to create paintings of their beauty. All of these paintings have appeared in my Pomegranate calendars and some are included in the Portland Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery inventory.
The painting above is the first poppy painting that I created several years ago in oils and was one of my first ventures into metal leaf as I added it to the background. It was in the Pomegranate 2023 calendar.

“A Splash of Summer” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – $4,700
This was my second painting of poppies and delphiniums and the first time I added a vine maple branch to balance the composition. It was also featured in the Pomegranate 2023 calendar and is currently at the Rental/Sales Gallery.

“Shimmering Summer” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – $5,000
I repeated the vine maple branch and added the cut metal leaf maple vine leaves as well as additional flowers for a more complete garden theme for this painting. It was included in the Pomegranate 2024 calendar and is currently in their catalog as a greeting card. It is also in the Rental/Sales Gallery.

“Summer Garden” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – $4,800
This was the last poppy painting I created and I chose to limit the plants to just the red, white and blue color theme with a solid gold background. It is in the Pomegranate 2025 calendar. Although I am still thrilled with poppies and bright colors, I’m currently working on fall-themed paintings of aspen and vine maple trees as a fall show deadline looms.
