Photographic Support

“Riverscape” 40″ x 60″ oil and wax on canvas – SOLD

For many years, my husband and I would take photographic trips to the Oregon coast and the Santiam Pass forest to inspire my paintings in the studio. When I would send images of the completed paintings to friends and family, several of those people would send me photographs of their gardens and unusual mew plants to further inspire me. I have always been grateful for these welcome images, especially since the pandemic and our limited travel.

“Autumn Reflections #2″ 60″ x 40” oil and wax on canvas – $4,500

One dear cousin not only sent me wonderful photos of areas all over the country, but more intimate photos of her garden and the butterflies, dragonflies and birds that visited it. Her photographic skills have inspired many of my paintings over decades and I refer back to them often.

“The Turning” 40″ x 60″ oil and wax on canvas” – $4,500

A river in New Hampshire that she photographed was so colorful that I did a series of paintings of it. One of them recently sold and reminded me how much her photographs have helped me and her encouragement means to me. These river paintings are just a few of them as well as the waterfall in her home state.

“Merriman Falls” 48″ x 36″ oil and wax on canvas – SOLD

The hydrangeas in my own garden have been so spectacular that I just started a new painting of two different varieties of plants in variegated colors and look forward to adding the shimmering metal leaf background.
