“Sun Ripened” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – $4,300
One of my collectors who recently purchased one of my 1984 paintings from someone in Florida commented that my paintings seem to travel more than I do. That is true of the paintings I have already sold, but we are doing a lot of pick-ups and deliveries of my current work.
The painting above has traveled the most this past year, both with its images and physically. Last spring it was in a group show at the Lawrence Gallery of artists who had been with the gallery for over 30 years. Then it went to Hood River in the fall for my show of grapevine paintings at the Cathedral Ridge Winery.
It was in an ad for the winery show in the American Art Collector Magazine and then was juried in to the Portland Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery spring show this April, where it is currently rented.
The painting’s latest image journey is the international exhibition of “Art That Lifts Our Spirits” by the “Healing Power of Art” organization. The show will continue until Oct 15, 2019 and can be seen by opening this link.

Will the painting end its journey with a purchase by the current RSG client? Not necessarily. During my 54 years with the gallery my paintings have usually rented several times before either being sold or returned after several months of non-rental.
