“Autumn Radiance” 48″x 36″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – SOLD
This past week sets a record for exposure of my art work. “Autumn Radiance” was one of the 57 art works in the current international exhibition by Manhattan Arts Intl. The theme of the show is “The Healing Power of Art: Love, Peace, Unity and Hope”. The entire show is uplifting from the art to the descriptions by the artists of their inspiration and hopes. Renee Phillips, the organizer and curator also added many examples of artists and writers from the past on the same theme. The exhibition will continue through January.
“Persimmon Branches” 36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf on canvas – $4,800
Later in the week, the Portland Art Museum’s weekly newsletter included “Persimmon Branches” to advertise their Rental Sales Gallery fall show. There are more than 200 new art works in the current show, which has a variety of art to cheer their clients during this grey and rainy season.
My new work is keeping me busy as each painting dries enough for the next layer. I know that my past techniques and mediums went much faster, but I’m still fascinated by the combination of oils and metal leaf and all of the challenges they present.
