Still Painting Cheer

A Splash of Summer-ed2

“Splash of Summer”  36″ x 48″ oil and metal leaf – $4,700

It is increasingly difficult to paint cheerful paintings with a continuing global atmosphere of gloom and doom, but I’m trying hard to maintain a professional attitude toward my work.  It helps that my support from family, friends, and Mark Tindle, the interim director of The Portland Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery continue to lift my spirits.

Mentors such as Renee Phillips of the Manhattan Arts, Intl., also encourage me and other artists to participate in new on-line exhibitions to promote the healing power of art. She sends a weekly blog to showcase featured artists and their websites.  I will be adding an image of the above painting to that site soon.

Pomegranate Communications’ new publisher, Cory Mimms also cheered me when he recently asked for 12 images of my oil and metal leaf paintings for a 2023 calendar. Both of these paintings are included among the twelve. The 2022 calendar of my work is currently available for purchase as well as the jigsaw puzzle and note cards on their catalog.

These paintings and one other were just added to the inventory of the Rental/Sales Gallery.  Mark has reported an increase in clients who want more cheerful paintings during this current atmosphere and isolation.

So, that is my goal – to continue to paint as much cheer as possible, and maybe to add a bit of humor as well.
