Before the internet and the many ways of exhibiting art without actually having it in a physical gallery, the only time several of my paintings could be seen at one time was a one-person show.  Now, with a website that shows not only my current work, but paintings that have already sold, the whole dynamics of exposure to my art has changed.

I used to imagine that my paintings that had sold acted as advertisements for future sales, particularly when they were hanging in public buildings and businesses.  I will never know if that was true, but now people actually contact me if they have seen my paintings at a restaurant, office, clinic or my website.

Early this year I was contacted by the publisher of Pomegranate Communications to see if I would be interested in having four of my oil and metal leaf paintings made into a boxed set of note cards. Of course, I was quite happy to do so, and the above paintings now are available in the new spring catalog.  https://www.pomegranate.com/bx006.html

In spite of the grim national and global news each day, I’m finding that art is still important to lift spirits, whether it is actual paintings, cards or even jigsaw puzzles. I still paint for future shows in galleries that will open when life gets back to some kind of normal.

Two of the paintings above are currently at the Portland Art Museum Rental/Sales Gallery.  Even though the gallery is closed, appointments can be made at (503) 224-0674 and my paintings can be seen by going to their website http://rentalsalesgallery.com
